Our mission is to produce professional, thought provoking entertainment embracing new, original works as well as theatrical standards. We embrace seasoned performers as well as provide a welcoming atmosphere for anew generation. Our goal is to provide a financial environment benefiting st peters as well as supporting organizations that provide a socially progressive environment in the community.
Blue State relies completely on volunteers for all aspects of its productions. We welcome new members to join us with or without experience. We will train all new technical people, have positions for box office & concession and welcome new as well as seasoned actors. We also greatly appreciate your support with the purchase of a ticket to our show!
We also accept and welcome donations of any amount. Your kindness helps us reduce the production costs of each show. Any production can cost us from $3,000 to $6,000 to mount. The less we spend the more we can give back to the community.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church
Blue State started as an extension of years of theater work. After spending 34 years in community theater working for other groups, Joseph Schreck decided to establish his own company and search for a home for them. First starting in 1977 as a stage manager and directing and producing over 100 productions, Blue State was born in 2005. We were welcomed to St. Peter’s in 2009 and to date have given back over $2,300 from show proceeds.
